Effective date: October 27, 2026. This policy describes the standards Auto Fieldbook applies to its automotive information and explains how readers can report an issue.
Editorial purpose and topic selection
Our goal is to publish useful, understandable, and carefully sourced information for global English-language readers. We select topics based on reader questions, automotive developments, safety relevance, and the value of explaining a complex subject. Each article is assigned to the most relevant section to keep category boundaries clear.
Sources and fact checking
Writers should prefer primary sources such as manufacturer manuals and technical documents, regulator and government publications, official recall databases, standards bodies, and original research. Reliable specialist sources may add context. Articles should link or cite material supporting specific claims, verify dates and market context, and distinguish established information from estimates, interpretation, or unresolved questions. A claim is not treated as verified merely because it appears elsewhere online.
Bylines and qualifications
Pen names may be used as transparent editorial bylines. A pen name is a publishing name, not evidence of a separate legal identity, certification, employment, or personal automotive experience. Author profiles will describe only information that has been confirmed. Until contributor profiles are available, content may be credited to the Auto Fieldbook Editorial Desk. See Authors.
Editorial review
Articles receive editorial review for clarity, sourcing, accuracy, category fit, and appropriate safety context before publication. This is an editorial process, not a guarantee that every claim is infallible or a substitute for specialist inspection. Material errors should be corrected promptly when confirmed.
Images and rights
We use original imagery, images created for the site, or assets whose license or permission allows the intended use. We do not knowingly publish unlicensed third-party photographs or manufacturer logos. Captions and credits are added when required or useful. A rights concern may be reported through Contact Us with the image location and evidence of the rights involved.
Originality and reuse
Articles are written for Auto Fieldbook and should add original explanation, organization, or reporting. We do not intentionally copy another publisher’s article or republish duplicate material to manipulate search results. Sources and short quotations are attributed where appropriate; third-party text and images remain subject to their owners’ rights.
Dates and updates
The publication date reflects the first public publication. An updated date is shown only after a material change, such as corrected facts, revised specifications, or meaningful new context. A date is not changed just to make an article appear new. Historical dates are not invented.
Corrections and reader feedback
To report an error, send the page URL, the claim in question, and a reliable supporting source through Contact Us. We review reports, correct confirmed material errors, and add a correction or update note when that helps readers understand the change. Requests are not a promise to adopt a particular conclusion.
Advertising and commercial relationships
Paid placements, sponsorships, affiliate relationships, or other material commercial relationships will be clearly identified near the relevant content or link. Commercial partners do not control independent editorial conclusions. No advertising or sponsorship program is currently configured on the site; this policy will be updated if that changes.
